To expand peace in the Middle East, a separate Abraham Forum was founded on Thursday, November 19, 2020. At a digital conference, 40 personalities from Egypt, Germany, Israel, Morocco, Tunisia and the United Arab Emirates exchanged their experiences with inter-religious dialogues. At the end of the two-day consultations, they decided to strengthen their cooperation by adopting the statutes for an Abraham Forum in MENA countries – MENA stands for countries in the Middle East and North Africa.

Abrahamic Forum in Germany hosted the conference. The Abrahamic Forum in Germany has been stimulating and promoting Abrahamic events in MENA countries since 2016. Abraham is the father of faith for Jews, Christians and Muslims and is therefore an important basis for cooperation. The awareness of common ground promotes interreligious cooperation and weakens fundamentalist and violent tendencies. In this way, people of faith can strengthen peace.

The conference was sponsored by the Foreign Office of the Federal Republic of Germany and the World Muslim Community Council in Abu Dhabi/United Arab Emirates. Representatives of both institutions participated in the conference. Projects of the Abrahamic Forum in Egypt, especially in schools, are currently being supported by Bread for the World.

The Abrahamic Forum in Germany is an association founded in 2001 by Jewish, Christian and Muslim personalities from the Central Council of Jews, the Working Group of Christian Churches, the Central Council of Muslims and other institutions with scholars and experts.
